Armadillo TRX4M Edition

This is the Armadillo truck version for the 1/18 scale Traxxas TRX-4M chassis. The body is printable on an A1 Mini or larger printer.

The model is modular so you can spec out your truck in several ways, with different cabin looks + there are some submodules that can be added to change its appearance. There are different bed variation to choose from as well. 

 

The model is quite heavy, depending on what modules you put on it, compared to the stock bodies that comes with the TRX4M so you most likely need stiffer than stock springs at the front.

Update 4.12.2025

The display stand print profile has been update. The display stand now supports the 6x6 variant of the body as well. You only need to print the extension parts on plate 4 to extend it to the 6x6 version.

Update 20.4.2025

An 6x6 variant of the truck has been published. You can find it as its own print profile in the print profile list. The cabin is identical in the 4x4 & 6x6 variants so it can be reused if you have printed one already. I use an Hoplex 6x6 kit for the TRX4m from amazon that added the extra rear axle. It added 78mm extensions to the frame. If there are other kits with differing lengths there is an adjustable rear clip mount included in the print profile on the “Extras” plate. It allows for +-5mm adjustment. If you do have some other 6x6 mod and the body does not fit on it you can reach out to me and I can see if I am able to make some adjustments to make it work..

Update 31.3.2025

Updated the print profile for the stand. Updated the inner half part of the rim. There were a bit too thin walls around the hole where the M3 screw is inserted to the rim, sometimes the walls could detach when fastening the screw.

 

Update 30.03.2025

A printable stand is now included as a separate print profile. This can be used to print the car as an display model, or someplace nice to store the body for your RC while using another body on your rig. The display stand is compatible with both my TRX4M bodies, the Armadillo and Catmaw.

The storage shelves boxes/tanks can be swapped out and custom ones be made. They are snap on parats held with magnets. 

 

Lights can be installed in the front and rear bumpers. The body is easily detached from the chassis so you can reach the battery/motor/server etc.

 

 

A display stand for the body is available. Includes printable tires and rims. The stand is compatible with both the TRX4M Armadillo and Catmaw editions. The front/rear bumpers from respective cars are mounted to the stand and then the body can be mounted by sliding the body on top.
