Description
This is an F# minor flute designed to be quiet enough to play in an apartment building without disturbing the neighbors too much. Even though it's quiet, it has a really nice tone and is a pleasure to play. It plays in very accurate tuning (I achieve ±2 cent accuracy while playing), though this always depends on the player.
It prints in two pieces (mouthpiece and flute), so you can make the mouthpiece from a safe material and use any glow-in-the-dark material you want for the flute (since it won't come into contact with your lips).
I also have a drone variation of this available at www.3Dprintableflutes.com, along with 70+ other unique wind instrument designs.
Printing Instructions:
It prints well on a clean PEI plate, but other plates (like the SuperTack) require a brim to prevent warping. I lowered the top layer heights on the mouthpiece, giving it a smoother finish against the lips.
Safety:
Please use only safe, certified materials for the mouthpiece and wash it regularly—especially before giving it to someone else—as bacteria can easily start to build up between the layer lines.
Happy fluting! :)
