Support arms for mounting your LGB track to the walls of a room, including supporting curves. The curve sections are designed to support LGB R1 Radius #11000 track sections.
8 total m3x12mm screw for a room with 4 90degree inside corners. The left/right curve sections join using a m3x12mm screw to lock the sliding dovetail. It's best to do this after the track is in place.
Installation:
It first helps to mark a level line around the room, if your ceiling isn't level to help mark the location of the arms
Decide on the height you want the arms to be at. It helps to double check this with your tallest rollingstock
Mark locations for arms
Install anchors if needed or predrill holes
Install the curve support arms without the lock screw attached
Slide the straight arms on to the track and space to match wall
Anchor straight arms to wall
Gently install curved sections
Install front portion of curved support arms by sliding into the dovetail
Install the curved support arm lock screw
Enjoy your trains!
Straight Sections:
The location of the “straight” section of the support arms is non critical except for the ones entering/exiting a curve.
Curved Sections:
These do have some critical measurements. These notes assume your inside corners are 90 degrees or close enough. The longer curved arms need to be 17 inches | 430mm away from the corner. The straight section entering the curve needs to be 28 7/8″ | 730mm away from the corner.
Notes:
Depending on the individual batch of LGB track, you may need to use a deburring tool on the printed parts and potentially the bottom corners of the track. The fit is intended to be very tight to help hold the track solidly.
Clearance of the straight track centerline to the wall is 5 3/16inch |133mm
Clearance of the straight track centerline to the face of the support is 3 15/16inch | 100mm
Disclaimer:
The designer is in no way responsible for potential failures of your support arms causing damage to the trains, track, etc…. That stated, the straight arms were able to support the rather portly designer when printed in ABS with 6 wall loops standing on the upturned corner.
