Princess Jewelry Music Box + Customizable Insert

A dreamy gift for a little girl comes in the shape of a musical jewelry box with a spinning princess! Inside the lid you can insert a mirror, photo, or personalized sign. Plenty of space for storing treasures and even makeup, with two ring holders and a drawer in the front. Everything snaps together - no glue and no AMS required. Use the two indents at the top back of the base to snap the lid in and gently pull apart the hinge to slide it into the holes of the lid.

 

ETA 8/29/25: A new profile has been added! It includes a redesigned clasp and drawer handle for the box due to silk supports not coming off cleanly in the original flat top/bottom version. I also added small clip-ins inside the box top and sides of the mirror cover to keep it from falling out when slammed shut. 

 

For the box I recommend rainbow silk, sparkle, or dual-color filaments to make it look truly magical. I used Inland Silk PLA - Rainbow 2 but I think any silk would look great! For the inside I used white for a nice contrast. If you're not printing on the A1 Mini, I recommend having  both top and bottom on the same plate so the gradient lines up perfectly. 

 

The square hole inside the lid is 54.860mm to allow a 2in photo or 3D printed sign (with tolerance). I included a Make My Sign template that fits inside.

 

Any crafting mirror (51mm diameter, 1.2mm thick) would work for the plug in insert, but I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CBPHY6V 

 

The music box holes line up perfectly with the Bambulab Piano Music Box wind up kit - just use a screwdriver to attach them. Link is in the Bill of Materials. If you don't have a kit yet, the print comes with a little plug until you get it. If you don't want to use a music box at all, I included a print profile without the holes in the back and you can use the space behind the insert as a secret compartment instead.

 

If you don't want to use the princess you can use any figurine with the following dimensions: 10mm maximum radius (so it can spin freely) and 30mm maximum height with a negative part cylinder that is 3.2mm diameter and 7mm height to fit the turner. Try out PrintMon Maker!
