Description
This double-double tray rounds out the set of self-watering seed starter trays for 127mm seed starters I have modeled. Â It goes with a single and double tray linked below. Â It can fit any standard 127mm starter unit or the 127mm units also linked below. Â They will be a tight fit, but it can fit 4 of each. Â It will also fit 9 of the single largest starter pots linked below.
Â
It has raised slats on the bed to allow water to flow out of the bottom of your starter pods, and optional handles to move the trays around easily. Â The handles version uses threaded heat inserts and screws to attach. Â You will need 4 x M3x4mm inserts for each handle, and 4 x M3x6mm screws to attach them (total of 8 each per double-wide tray).
Â
This setup is part of a larger series of designs I made for your plant starting adventure.
This can only be printed on a larger bed, such as the X1/P1/A1. Â It is also recommended to disable Flow Dynamics Calibration since the print is nearly the entire usable area of the bed.
Â
Â
NOTE: Make sure to re-enable Flow Dynamics Calibration on your next print since this is a persistent setting!!
Â
The print profiles included are for both PETG and PLA. Â I highly recommend printing in PETG, since it is much more resilient to water (PLA will biodegrade eventually). Â Also PETG is much more heat-resistant if you intend to use an incubation pad, or have these in a heated greenhouse. Â If you intend to have these outside, then ASA is also an option for the UV resistance.
