This pen holder is inspired by the mutated creatures in Resident Evil, the liquid metal T-1000 robot from Terminator, the symbiotes from Venom, and other similarly viscous, shape-shifting entities.
These lifeforms possess ever-changing bodies that exude a strong sense of vitality and alienness. With multiple holes and a curved top, the pen holder captures a sense of fluidity and organic irregularity, as if a living organism is in the midst of constant evolution. Its surface resembles slime—dynamic and alive—while leaving space for users to interpret and imagine freely.
Function & Structure
The pen holder features independently spaced holes, each with a diameter of 18mm, allowing it to accommodate pens and tools of various sizes for daily use.
The extensive hollow structures not only reduce material consumption but also maintain the overall strength and stability of the piece. These cutouts help lighten the weight while adding visual depth, giving the pen holder a modern and artistic character. The overall design balances practicality and aesthetics, making it easy to integrate with other objects in any setting.
Material Choice
There are no specific material restrictions for printing. I used both PLA BASIC and PLA SILK, and both materials performed very well in terms of strength.
Support Removal
To ensure optimal print quality, the Z-distance at the top of the supports is set relatively small. If any areas are difficult to remove, feel free to use a flush cutter to assist with the process.
