Gridfinity for Short Calipers
When working on a design I find I'm always gathering the same tools every time. Rather than constantly chasing all over my work area for them, I decided to put them all into one of my favorite Gridfinity storage systems (link below).
This particular model is for storing a 'short' 4-inch digital caliper (link below), along with the screwdriver for opening the battery compartment and several spare LR44 batteries. I also added a slot to to store a 6-inch ruler.
This model was designed entirely using FreeCAD. The base is a standard Gridfinity block, 2 x 5 x 3u. It is about 25mm tall, and will sit about 21mm above the top of your Gridfinity panel. Other Gridfinity containers can be stacked on top of it - just barely - when the linked rulers are stored in their slot. Any wider rulers would make it non-stackable. The base also supports the Gridfinity with Pin variation.
Unfortunately, this model is too large for an A1 Mini print bed.
The filaments I used for the model pictured are SUNLU PLA Matte Gray and Polymaker PLA Matte Forest Green.
