Description
The Lotus Eletre: home to an impractically-deep central storage bin. My answer? The Modular Eletre Storage System, a customisable way to make the most of it by adding a second layer of organised space. It's made up of two sections, both with different variants that you can mix and match, or print multiple of and swap in depending on your current needs:
The Frame
If all you want is a small 'shelf' of extra storage, the frame can be used on its own, which leaves a space to reach through to the storage space beneath, or store taller items.
The Tray
To use, simply print a frame and (optionally) a tray. place the frame into the bin, hole to the rear and push down gently until it fits against the walls of the bin. Pop the tray in (if using), and you've got a custom storage layer, with space underneath accessible by lifting the tray. I'm always open to ideas for other variants that other Eletre owners might find useful.
Want to look extra sporty and don't mind a longer print time? With supports, all parts can be printed upside down using a carbon fiber 3D effect plate. It does lower the quality of the other visible surfaces though, and it's pretty inefficient.
NB: there are quite large sections printed against the bed, and the auxiliary fan can cause these to warp. My profile disables the aux fan to limit this, and a nice clean plate makes it even less likely. Don't worry if the bottom layer/s does warp slightly though, these aren't visible and the rest of the print is engineered to account for this.
