Description
Compact case for Nintendo Switch games, to be easily carried in your pocket or purse.
When inserting the games, there is a satisfying “CLICK!” that allows the games to stay in place even with the doors opened.
I printed the Springs in PETG for higher durability, but you can also print them in PLA and it will work great as well and in this case, you can reduce the print to a single plate.
The assembly was designed to be fully magnetic to allow for spring replacement and interchangeability between different cover and lid designs, but this requires the use of a total of 24 units of 5x3mm magnets.
You can reduce the number of magnets to just 4 (for holding the lids closed) by using glue to fix the top cover, making the assembly permanent.
Removing supports can be a bit of a technical challenge, but they are essential for maintaining the print quality of complex designs. While I previously used a utility knife, it’s a risky method that can easily lead to accidents. A much safer and more effective alternative, as suggested by IAmStew , is to use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the supports away instead.
Disclaimer: This was designed to be a somewhat premium and durable product, not to be a fast and cheap print, so please let me know how it could be improved this in this way.
