Description
I used the ‘Make My Sign’ tool to create this tag for some fruit trees we just planted at our house.
The plaque has space for three brief lines of text you can customize, as well as holes fit for threading M3 screws. There's also a second ‘stake’ piece with corresponding holes, if you want to screw the two pieces together like I have. I've used a small nut on the back, but the tight threading in the plastic makes me think it may not be necessary.
All this was printed with plain PLA, which I think should hold up fine outdoors, as there's no real stress on any of it. You might try PETG, if you're concerned about durability, though. I plan on printing a few more of these for some Asian pears, pawpaws, and blueberries we're planting soon, too.
A variation of this could be printed in one piece, I think - if you're willing to print with the text flat, and face down on the build plate, you could combine the geometry with the stake's geometry, and avoid the assembly, simple though it is.
