The Simple and easy AMS2 Helper System for the AMS2 Pro. The design attachs directly to the first stage feeders filament intake.
In my print profile you will find two plates. One with a threaded ptfe tube hole and one without. The thread should keep your tube better in place, but will be more challenging to get in.
AMS 1 Version: https://makerworld.com/en/models/99682-ez-ams-helper
Advantages (i have noticed):
- No wear out of the grey non ceramic filament intake port parts of the first stage feeder
- Fixed filament retraction problem where the filament gets all over the AMS
- Reduced horizontal stress on the first stage feeder
- Fixed spool hopping when filament gets low
Assembly:
- Just stick a PTFE tube into the clip and slide it on the first stage feeder.
- Optional put a bit of glue in the hole before sticking the ptfe tube in to prevent slipping out
Notes:
- I use 9cm long PTFE tubes. Maybe the optimal length is different
- Check also out my PTFE Tube Protector: https://makerworld.com/en/models/234268
- I got replies that the AMS Helper breaks in some cases. Please keep in mind, that this is my intention, as i more likely have to have the AMS Helper broken than your First Stage Feeder
Installation on the AMS:
- Just slide it on, don´t try to mount it from the top.
