Sunlu Silica Gel Box / Spool Weight NFC Tag Slot

A simple and useful upgrade for Sunlu filament users. It keeps the spool steady while printing, helps reduce moisture, and lets you reuse the NFC tag from an empty Bambu Lab spool.

Key Features:

• Dual Functionality – Works as a spool weight and holds silica gel to absorb moisture.
• Sunlu Spool Compatibility – Designed specifically to fit standard Sunlu filament spools.
• NFC Tag Support – Optional ring lets you move the NFC tag from a Bambu Lab spool, so AMS can still recognize the filament.
• Better Printing Stability – Stops the spool from jumping or pulling too hard, especially with lighter or half-used rolls.
• Easy Setup – Fill with silica gel, insert the NFC tag into the ring (if used), and mount the weight into the spool.
• Moisture Protection – Small holes (1 mm) in the body allow airflow but prevent silica gel (usually >1 mm) from falling out.
• Quick Release Design – Both the main body and the NFC collar have small tabs to make removing the weight from the spool easier.
• Clean Design – Minimalist, functional, and easy to print or install. Includes labeled and blank NFC collar options.

Print Profiles Available:

• Spool Weight Only (PLA or PETG) – Includes the complete spool weight without the NFC ring, great if you don’t need tag support.
• NFC Tag Ring Set – Contains multiple rings with popular filament names pre-labeled, plus a blank version so you can add your own custom name.

Tips: Adjusting Collar Tightness

Some users mentioned that the collar/cover doesn’t snap in tightly enough. If you experience this, you can easily adjust it in Bambu Studio:

➡️ Go to the Precision tab and find the "XY Hole/Contour Compensation" option.
➡️ Increase the value from 0 to around 0.05 to make the collar fit more snugly.

This small tweak can improve the fit without needing to modify the model!
