Benchy Within

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iconic 3DBenchy, I wanted to create something that symbolizes the deep connection the 3D printing community has with this little boat. This model is a gaddi torso, with a vivid red 3DBenchy embedded in its heart.

It represents how we, as makers, carry the Benchy close — not just as a test print, but as a symbol of creativity, progress, and the spirit of 3D printing itself.

Printed in contrasting materials to emphasize the importance and visibility of the Benchy, the piece invites viewers to reflect on how far we've come in the past decade — and how one tiny boat became a beloved icon.
