Streetwear-Style DIY Sunglasses, 3D Printable

I was honestly blown away the first time I designed—and especially printed—these sunglasses. The print quality, the fit, the strength, and the overall feel were way beyond my expectations. Even the arms flex and perform just right. You have to try them to believe it!

UPDATE: I’ve created a V2 version with several improvements/modifications — I recommend printing that one. Specifically:

• Improved design
• The sunglasses are now more durable
• The arms are stronger and more curved
• The fit has been improved

Print Your Own Sunglasses
This is a fully 3D-printable frame inspired by the timeless design of streetwear sunglasses. The model is optimized for easy printing and already includes configured supports where needed.

To complete the build, you'll need a replacement lens compatible.
You can find these easily on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress.

🔧 Assembly Instructions

• Use a piece of 1.75mm filament as a hinge pin: insert it through the hole in the temple arm, gently heat one end with a lighter and press it in so it locks in place. (you can also use a m2x12 screws but the rod hole needs to be slightly enlarged.
• To install the lenses, snap them in from the inside using a bit of hand pressure – no tools required, just a little patience.

• PLA and PETG
• PLA Carbon Fiber (If you use CF materials, please make sure it is safe to wear glasses made with these materials.)
• PETG Carbon Fiber (If you use CF materials, please make sure it is safe to wear glasses made with these materials.)
• Polycarbonate
• ABS 
• TPU HF (too soft)
• TPU Bambu for AMS (very nice, one of my preferred result, you need to zoom out of 2 %)
• PPA CF (thanks @Hexalng) (If you use CF materials, please make sure it is safe to wear glasses made with these materials.)
• PA6 GF (bambu ), very cool! (one of my best result)

☀️ Tips:
-For outdoor summer use, I recommend printing in PETG or stronger materials to avoid deformation if left in a hot car. I was genuinely surprised by how solid and high-quality the final result turned out.

-For the best finish, consider printing a final version with a high-quality profile (e.g. 0.08 layer height) after testing at a lower resolution like 0.16.

-A bit of post-processing is recommended: lightly sanding the underside of the arms(becasue of the supports), where they rest over the ears, can make the sunglasses more comfortable when taking them off. 

-if you have problem with the print, try to put some glue on the plate.
