Description

Create your own custom moving scenes in this awesome Brickable music box!

You know those old music boxes with the dancing ballerina? Let's make that a party 😎

This music box has studs all over! It consists of a big rotating plate with planetary gears that move independently. You can wind the music box by rotating the big plate clockwise and just let go. And when you close the lid you have an unassuming big brick that hides your creation.

Wheter you want to recreate your favourite harry potter scene, a big rave or a moving botanical garden, the only limitation is your imagination (or in my case my limited supply of bricks). I am really curious to see what you come up with so don't forget to post your creations in the comments 🙂

The studs are 5.1mm which was the right size on my A1 with Bambu PLA. You might want to print just a single planetary gear first to see if your bricks fit and stick well enough. Otherwise please adjust the XY compensation for the third plate in Studio to dial it in.

Update: I shaved off 3 hours of print time and eliminated all supports by making the studs screw-in

And that's about it!

Happy printing!
