Description
This custom hydration system is designed specifically for the Scott Plasma 20 with a 17-degree, 13cm stem. Due to its highly optimized fit, this setup is likely unique to my bike, serving as inspiration and a starting point for your own designs. The system mounts securely to the stem, featuring a snap-in bottle with a spring-loaded mechanism for easy access. An integrated Garmin computer mount at the end of the box enhances both functionality and aerodynamics.
Update:
I redesigned the bottle's shape, adding a holder for the drinking tube. During testing, I noticed leaks in areas where the bottle's rear wall was printed on supports. To address this, I used food-safe resin (RESINFOOD). I printed the bottle with thinner walls and added TPU plugs to seal the holes. I also designed a resin cup and a three-axis rotation system intended for use with a drill during the glazing process. However, I found that manual rotation was completely sufficient. I heated 35ml of resin to 45°C to reduce its viscosity, poured it into the bottle, and rotated it manually for 15 minutes. This created a smooth, bacteria-resistant glaze and significantly strengthened the bottle. After testing on the bike, the system performed flawlessly and is now a permanent part of my bike setup.
Indoor Training Bonus: If you spend your winter months on a trainer, don't miss my newest creation: Pulse Breeze.
