Description

This is a clamp-on desk bin designed to help keep your workspace clean and clutter-free.

It attaches securely to the edge of your desk using 2 screw clamps, making it perfect for catching small scraps, bits of filament, or paper that usually end up on the floor.

The bin itself connects to the clamp via a friction-fit twist mechanism, making it easy to remove, empty, or swap out. No tools required, just twist and pull.

Features

  • Clamp-On Mounting:
Attaches securely to the edge of most desks using two 3D-printed bolts. No damage, no mess.
  • Swappable Bin System:
The bin connects to the clamp using a friction-fit twist mechanism — easy to remove, empty, or swap out different modules.
  • Plastic Bag Attachment:
For those who prefer a higher-capacity option or don’t want to print a full bin, there’s also an attachment that lets you hang a small plastic bag instead. It twists onto the same clamp base and works great for catching larger scraps, making quick clean-ups even easier.
  • Optional Swivel Pads:
Designed to be screwed onto the bolts to protect soft desks (especially wooden ones) from pressure marks over long periods.

Dimensions

  • The clamp is designed to fit desks up to 35 mm thick. This should accommodate most standard desk surfaces. If your desk is thicker, feel free to leave a comment and I’d be happy to scale the design or provide an alternate version.

  • The bin itself measures 95 mm tall, offering a decent amount of volume for general desk waste — perfect for things like support material, paper scraps, and other small offcuts.

  • The clamp/lid is 55 mm tall, giving the assembly a compact profile while still being sturdy and supportive.

  • The total height of the full assembly is approximately 150 mm, making it easy to tuck at a corner of your desk without getting in the way of your workspace.

Print Details

  • Print Profiles:

    Clamps, Bolts and Dampeners
    • Plate 1 – Clamp piece
    • Plate 2 – Swivel Pads + Bolts

If you do not need the swivel pads, delete the object in Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy

    Bin or Bag Attachment

    • Plate 1 – Bin
    • Plate 2 – Bag Attachment

  • Material: PLA / any stiff filament. PETG is not recommended for the clamp as it will deform more easily.

TPU can be used for dampeners if added grip/cushioning is preferred)

  • Supports: Only required for the clamp plate. I have tested the tree supports to ensure that they detach from the part easily, but let me know if you experience any issues.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Print your preferred bin attachment.
  2. Assemble the clamp using the printed bolts.

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN as this can cause the clamp to bend over time, as well as cause the bolts to break.

  3. Optionally, screw the swivel pads onto the bolts before mounting.
  4. Attach the bin by twisting it into the base clamp. It should hold securely with friction.
  5. Bag Attachment: Fold the bag over the edge of the ring and twist it into the base of the clamp. The fit might be a bit tighter due to the bag but it should not be a problem.

The clamp fits most standard desk thicknesses, but if your desk is unusually thick, feel free to scale the model in your slicer, or drop a comment with your dimensions!

If you have suggestions, ideas for alternate bin designs, or just want to share your prints, I’d love to see them! Feel free to reach out or leave a comment.
