Description

Clippy was born out of a material stress test. I wanted to evaluate the durability of Bambu Lab’s PETG HF filament — and I must say, I’m impressed by how much it can handle. I performed roughly 500 clip-on/clip-off cycles using a broom with a 28 mm handle, and saw no signs of material failure. Handles above 30 mm shouldn’t be clipped in, as this approaches the material’s load limit.

The four clips are modular and easy to replace, so in case of wear or damage, you’ll only need to reprint a single part.

Materials used:

  • Rollers: Bambu Lab TPU for AMS
  • Clips: Bambu Lab PETG HF
  • Wall Mount: Bambu Lab PLA Mate

(Note: If the wall mount is exposed to the elements, PETG HF is recommended instead.)

Assembly Instructions:

(General note: Only use properly dried materials. Do not use moist filament.)

  1. Start by printing Build Plate 1, which contains the rollers.
  2. Then print Build Plate 2. The printer will pause automatically at layer 127 to allow for the rollers to be inserted.
  3. After inserting the rollers, resume the print to complete the part.
  4. Finally, print Build Plate 3, which includes the wall mount.
  5. Insert the printed clips into the wall mount.

Your Clippy is now ready for installation.
