Pen and paper need to make a comeback. In today's highly digitalized world, where smart appliances and hyper connected devices blast information into your eyeballs more or less 24/7, slowing down and introducing small inconveniences can actually make you a better thinker. That's why I (a junior researcher in the humanities) keep a slip box and regular notebooks to manage my research. It makes me remember more, discover previously unseen connections in my study material. Plus it strains my eyes a lot less than reading off screens do.

If you are in school, at uni, on a graduate program, tenured researcher or working in industry, consider giving the Zettelkasten method a try. It is, at least in my experience, life changing for the better.

Anyway, here is my latest iteration of index card boxes that I keep my research notes in. As the amount of notes increases, the better I need my storage solution to be, so I'm going to drop new models as I make them. This one works well for now c:

I printed the box itself in PETG and the dividers in PLA. Since the dividers are really thin, the rigidity of the PLA makes them better for supporting the stack of notes that'll be leaning against them. I would advise against printing the dividers in PETG, at least without using glue on the buildplate; it's really hard to peel off such a big thin flat print without ruining either the print or the buildplate.

The dividers are a tight fit by design, but you can still easily move them around if you take care to pull them out evenly.

Boost MeWant to make my day? Boost this model if you liked it! Both printing and downloading the model helps MakerWorld's recommendation algorithms to show this to others who might like it. Plus, it honestly makes me really happy whenever I see my models doing well c:

Thank you ever so much in advance!
