🏰 Mini Cliff Diorama with Fairytale Towers
A charming miniature diorama featuring a 3D-printed rocky cliff and whimsical towers — perfect for glass terrariums or as a magical decoration. Painted with stone texture paste and acrylic paints, and decorated with real or artificial moss and natural materials.
Note: Three different tower models are included — two of them can be placed on the cliff and mixed as you like.
The glass container shown is 9 cm in diameter and 14 cm tall — but the model also looks great as a standalone display piece without glass.
🛠 How to Build Your Own Mini Diorama
Materials needed:
- STL files: Cliff base + 2 different buildings
- Stone texture paste or acrylic paints
- Real moss (or artificial)
- Small stones, soil
- Toothpick, tweezers, or similar tool
- Craft glue (only needed for artificial moss)
- Optional: Add any plants you like — live moss, succulents, or preserved greens
Steps:
- 3D Printing:
Print the cliff base and two of the three towers. The cliff has pre-modeled sockets where the towers fit in directly. Light post-processing may be helpful if needed. - Painting:
Apply the stone texture paste and let it dry. Then add details using acrylic paints — such as dry brushing highlights or painting windows and doors. - Moss & Plants:
Use a toothpick or fine tool to gently insert small pieces of moss into the pre-modeled holes and crevices. Real moss usually holds on its own — use a small drop of glue only if you’re using artificial moss. Feel free to add any plants or greenery you like for extra flair. - Ground Finishing:
Fill the bottom area with a mix of small stones and soil. Bits of bark, wood, or dried plants can make nice natural accents too. - Display:
The diorama fits perfectly in a glass container around 9 cm wide and 14 cm tall — but it also works beautifully as a freestanding decorative piece on a shelf, desk, or windowsill.
