Description
A shaft collar. That's literally it. I am using it to secure a ball-bearing. Comes in 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm inner diameter sizes. M3 hardware required.
Supports: No; your well-tuned 3D printer should be able to handle the bridges
Print with generic settings: 0.2mm layer height, 5-15% infill.
More information:
Attached is an f3d file (Fusion 360 customizable file), and you can customize the parameters using the “change parameters” functionality (hence the liscense). If you are unable to do so, but you want a custom size, feel free to comment or DM (direct message) me so I can do it for you.
About the design: this is version 1 of a shaft collar, and it utilizes the flex of the material to tighten around the shaft. I attempted 3D printing this in metal using PCBWay's metal 3D printing service (as you can see in the photos), but it was WAYYYY too hard to tighten. Therefore, I recommend you only use this version for strictly 3D printing uses only. I am currently working on a version that allows better functionality for metallic materials (aluminum, steel, etc), so keep your eyes peeled for a Version 2!
I would love if you upload makes & give feedback; you get Makerworld Points, and I get to improve on my designs!
Have a spectacular day, and as always,
Happy Printing!
