Gridfinity Ikea Malm 80x78cm Magnetic Baseplate

Project Overview:

This Gridfinity Magnetic Baseplate is designed to perfectly fit inside the Ikea Malm 80x78cm Chest Drawers, turning your drawer into a highly organized and modular storage system. Whether you're a maker, hobbyist, or just love a tidy setup, this baseplate brings order and style to your workspace.
The model is optimized for magnetic (optional) Gridfinity bins, and includes countersunk screw holes for a permanent installation. Whether you're going all-in on Gridfinity or just starting out, this project is the perfect base to build on.

This grid was calculated with this Gridfinity Generator and borders where custom designed in Fusion360 to fit perfectly in the drawers.

Assembly Guide:

1. Print all baseplate sections. The amount of panels is marked as plate name.

2. Remove the brims from the clips.
3. Align the sections on a flat surface and click all the clips into place. (see GIF image)
4. Optional: Install round magnets (6x2mm).
5. Optional: Use countersunk screws to fix the baseplate into the wooden base of the drawer.
6. Add your Gridfinity bins and enjoy your fully modular drawer setup.
