Description
I originally just wanted a simple way to collect purge “poops” from my Bambu printer… but one thing led to another and before I knew it I’d spent far too many hours in CAD not to print it.
The result is a rear-mounted purge chute and storage drawer system that keeps purge waste contained while also adding useful storage space under your printer.
The chute mounts at the rear of the printer, guiding purge waste neatly down into the front left drawer. When it fills up, simply pull the drawer out and empty it — quick, clean, and easy.
The drawers slide on a simple integrated rail system and have a surprisingly solid feel. The design also includes storage for up to four additional build plates, plus an extra drawer for spare parts, tools, or anything else you’d like to keep close to your printer.
If you decide to try it out I’d love to hear your feedback.
The tolerances in this design are intentionally quite tight to ensure the drawers feel solid and the parts fit together cleanly.
However, you should never need to use excessive force during assembly.
If any joints feel slightly tight, simply lightly sand or file the mating surfaces. You’ll likely be surprised at just how little material needs to be removed to achieve a perfect fit.
For a smooth build process, I’ve also included an easy-to-follow assembly guide at the bottom of this page which walks through the steps for putting everything together.
Compatible with the following Bambu Lab printers:
NOTE: It turns out the original chute does not work with the X2D or the P2S with the exhaust system. In this case there are a few options for different chutes that work with the exhaust systems. One by '_bravo_bravo' and the other by ‘XhaleLt’
Height added by this model:
I spent quite a bit of time designing and refining this model so that it prints reliably and fits together nicely without requiring additional hardware.
I’m sharing it here for free with the community, so if you find it useful a boost or rating is hugely appreciated — it really helps support the time spent designing models like this.
Feedback, makes, and improvements are always great to see. It’s awesome watching how people use or adapt the design!

Added deeper drawer versions for users who do not plan on printing the build plate rack.
If using these drawers, I recommend printing the brace profile created by “NightGod” to replace the build plate rack. This provides the additional structural support that the rack originally offered.

Updated drawer front colours to match the images shown. Not sure how I managed to miss that for so long.

Added a print profile for the feet inserts required to allow the P2S / X2D to fit better on the model.
Huge thanks to @Rmedias for helping with the development of these.

Updated the chute print profile to fix an issue encountered by some early users. My sincere apologies to anyone affected.
