Description
This Modular Chisel Tool Rack is able to hold most chisels or plane irons ranging from 6mm (¼ inches) to 7.9 mm thick using sliding brackets that can be tightened down to virtually ANY width. I managed to fit mortise chisels, bevel edge chisels, narrow chisels, and a plane blade in the rack. No hardware needed!
Many more additional brackets are also included in the print profiles:
The tool rack can be set up in one of 3 configurations (see photos for each configuration.):
Simply print your desired brackets and frames (if applicable)!
Assembly is straightforward. Simply align the nut with the bracket and thread the knobbed bolt through until the bracket is secured. See the assembly below for details. A flathead screwdriver can be used to fasten the frame bolts. All hardware is printed.
NOTE: Be sure to use the bolt included on the print plate of each bracket or frame. Bolts are not always interchangeable because of differences in thicknesses of some brackets and the frames.
NOTE 2: No need to crank down on the printed hardware, simply fasten until secure. Overtightening can lead to stripping the screw threads.
Printed in PLA with sufficient strength.
As always, exercise caution while handling sharp blades, edges, or tools. Use at your own risk.
