Custom Emojis for NFC tags (Flat or Skadis Mount)

**UPDATE 2025-10-31: Added second plate with a flat tapeable design (no Skadis hook), so you can stick it to any surface for easy automations.**

I made this little holder to mount NFC tags onto my Skadis board—perfect for quick smart home actions with just a phone tap. I use it with Home Assistant and Apple HomeKit to control things like lamps and my coffee cup warmer. The print includes 9 different common emojis already, and I’ve added instructions if you want to swap in your own. Just scan the tag with your phone and boom—your automation runs. Easy, functional, and kind of fun too.

Printing Instructions:

1. Select which objects you want. 
2. Make sure you have a pause at layer 8 (1.60mm).
3. Once it pauses, insert 1x Ø25mm NFC sticker per object and then continue printing.

Make Your Own Instructions: 

1. Start with a blank MakerLab Make My Sign and turn off the base plate. 
2. Set Text & Sticker thickness to 0.6mm.
3. Add any emojis and then download. 
4. Drag the download into plate 2 of the “Skadis NFC Holder with Emoji” file.
5. Choose import geometry only. 
6. Split and scale each emoji based on preference, I usually choose 225% for X & Y. Make sure you keep the Z scale at 100% (0.60mm). 
7. Position the emoji centered on the holder and merge them.
8. Make sure you have a pause at layer 8 (1.60mm).
9. Once it pauses, insert 1x Ø25mm NFC sticker per object and then continue printing.
