Description

A 1:1 3D-printable dummy Playdate console that's useful for prototyping accessories or as a fidget toy while you're waiting for your real Playdate to arrive.

🌐 More information about the Playdate console can be found at https://play.date/

Video Demo

Please note: the Playdate in the video above is a previous version that uses a nut and screw to secure the crank, the current version of the design doesn't require this.

Assembly

Step 1

Place the yellow buttons into their matching cutouts on the console body

Step 2

Place the black screen into its hole.

Then, insert the silver speaker grill into its cutout, followed by the black speaker piece on top.

Hopefully, these pieces will stay in their place with friction. If they're loose, just use a tiny bit of superglue.

Step 3

Place the silver power button into the cutout on the other half of the console body.

Step 4

Assemble the crank!

Use superglue on the 2 large pieces to lock everything in place - but make sure not to get any superglue on the handle or insert!

The handle and insert should both be able to rotate freely.

Step 5

Insert the assembled crank into its slot on the bottom half of the body. Then, place the top half of the body on top.

Ensure that the pieces fit together nicely and that the crank is able to spin freely.

Then, superglue the two halves together - make sure not to get any superglue on the crank! (Alternatively, you can use M3 screws)

Step 6

Insert the screw caps into their slots on the front and back.

Step 7
