This is a cup holder designed to fit in the corner of the Ikea KURA bed frame, so that water can be easily accessible during the night and not fall!
Features:
It was made for the KURA bed, but should fit over anything with upper rails less than 44mm. The model includes:
- Two print profiles, one with TPU Fins, and one without. The TPU fins help hold the bottle upright and centered.
- Push-in clips at the bottom to hold the cup holder on the frame.
- ID of the main plastic opening is 102mm, with the fins extending out about 18mm.
Print Instructions for the version with Fins:
The model was designed to not require AMS, since most TPU doesn't work great in it. To print and insert the fins:
- Print the plate with the 3 fins first in TPU.
- Slice the main frame plate, and insert a pause at the first layer over the slots that are there for the fins (Layer 64 with 0.16mm layer height)
- When the print pauses, place the TPU fins into the cutout for them. If you want to help hold them in, use a gluestick to put a bit of glue on the lower surface to press the fins into. It doesn't need to hold for long.
- Resume print. The next layer will print right overtop of the fins, permanently holding them in place!
Assembly:
- Glue the bottom rest to the main frame with a bead of superglue.
Installation:
- Place the holder over the frame, and press in the clips at the bottom until they click. This will hold it so that it doesn't lift up (it's not supposed to be tight to the frame, it will wiggle, but it can't come off).
