Description

A simple box to store extra hotends and silicone socks for the Bambu H2D.

This box would also work for the A1-series hotends, but the text on the hotends would be facing sideways, making it difficult to read.

This project contains:

  • Hotend boxes for 1–5 hotends and silicone socks
  • Optional ‘printing nozzle’ icon embedded into the lid for all box sizes.
  • Wall mount (with screw holes or flat for sticky tape) for boxes with 3, 4 and 5 hotends
  • The Onshape model used to generate these boxes

Onshape Model

Here's a link to the Onshape model used to create these boxes. Feel free to do whatever you want with this model 😊

In the Document, you'll find configurations to choose the number of hotends in the box and whether to have the nozzle icon in the lid or not:

Modifying Tolerances

Also, you can easily modify some key dimensions in the “Nozzle Box” Part Studio:

If my tolerances (shown in screenshot above) don't work, I suggest printing test pieces with a single hotend until you get a good fit. To remember which (printed) box has what tolerance, you can turn on the “Tolerance Label” configuration to embed `Hotend_Holding_Features_Tolerance` into the base:

Exporting From the Onshape Model

I suggest exporting each single part (the box or the lid with no icon) in one go, then exporting each composite part (lid with icon, base with ‘Tolerance Label’) separately, from the ‘Composite Part’ dropdown on the bottom left. This will ensure that the embedded imagery will move with the main part, keeping bicolour printing simple.

I hope you find this useful! Enjoy 😊

Edits:

  • 29/06/2025: Added a box to store up to 10 hotends and 5 silicone socks. This version uses the same wall mount as the 5 hotend box. Here's a link to this model's Branch of the Onshape model.
