Description
You are hiking suddenly a wild Canion arrives and you need to know its width?
You are constantly stumbling across rivers and want to measure the distance to the lone tree on the other side?
You are locked in a mathmatic school book and have to measure the hight of trees?
This is your tool!
With the magic of tangential equations you can measure any distance you want! (depending on the length of your adjacent ;-) )
Preparation/ assembly:
Wind the cord onto the wheel, guide it around the column in the corner. Measure your preferred length from the center of the column to the viewing channel on the anchor. An adhesive tape flag on the cord enables reproducible unwinding.
Furthermore you need
you need 3x M3x10 Screws and a yarn
Measurement:
Place the anchor perpendicular to the targeted object. Use the alignment aid. Align the cord along the alignment guides on the anchor and the housing. This creates a right-angled triangle (approximately)
Now, align the pointer on the housing to the object and read the angle. With this angle, you can determine the distance from the anchor to the object using the attached table.
Have fun trying mathmatical theory in real live!
