LED sign No AMS name Frank

I made this model for a friends kid whose name is Frank as a gift, this is the no AMS version of the model. On my profile there is a version with AMS. Printing is very straight forward. 0.16mm layer height and black/white PLA from sunlu with generic PLA settings is what I used.

 

I tried different versions. 

Version 1: Battery light sources without back cover. You might want to increase the scaling in Z direction depending on how big your light sources are. I recommend using pucks like the one referred to in the material list or equivalent. 

The pictures taken in the dark are of this “version”

 

Version 2: Led strip light source with or without back cover. 

The LED Strip in the material list or equivalent should work. Just tape it on the inside behind the text.

 

Glue the parts together regardless which light source you decide to use. I recommend to not use a back cover if you decide to go with the battery pucks, changing the batteries will be tough otherwise..:) 

 

There is no pre drilled hole in either model for cable/hanging. Depending how and where you want to install the sign you might want to be able to adjust this yourself. I drilled the hole for the cable between  the “r” and the “a”

 

Remember to scale all the parts equally if changing the size.
