Description
The Idol Objective Room
“The wan light of your lantern glints off the cold walls of this chamber, revealing a set of steps leading up to an idol on the far side of the room.”
The chamber was vast, lit by the sickly green glow of warpstone braziers. At its center loomed the idol—an enormous daemon effigy carved from black stone, its eyes seeming to follow the group as they entered.
Twelve Skaven shrieked and chittered, weapons raised, warpstone crackling in their claws. One stood atop the plinth beside the brazier, chanting feverishly, its voice rising in a maddening cadence.
The battle was brutal, fast, and chaotic.
Bek and the barbarian carved through the Skaven ranks like a pair of living battering rams. The elf’s arrows flew with deadly precision, each shot finding a throat or heart. The wizard unleashed controlled bursts of magic—careful, for once—not to singe Bek’s beard.
One by one, the Skaven fell.
The last of them collapsed with a hiss, and the chamber fell eerily silent.
The wizard stepped forward, clutching the Scroll of Banishment. His hands trembled—not with fear, but with anticipation. He cleared his throat dramatically.
Wizard (grandly):
“Stand back. The Empire’s salvation is at hand.”
He unfurled the scroll and began to chant.
The air thickened. The braziers flared. The idol’s eyes glowed brighter—too bright.
The group exchanged uneasy glances.
Barbarian (whispering):
“Is… is it supposed to do that?”
Elf (quietly):
“No.”
The wizard’s voice rose, the scroll blazing with golden light.
Then—
A roar shook the chamber.
The idol pulsed. The air rippled. The summoning circle ignited.
Wizard (shouting over the noise):
“Impossible! I’m banishing it, not summoning—”
But the magic surged past him, wild and uncontrolled.
A shape began to form.
The group braced for the nearest Skaven corpse to rise—
But nothing happened.
Then the barbarian pointed.
Barbarian:
“…uh… is that… the rat?”
From behind a fallen brazier, the small rat—the same rat that had escaped them twice—dragged itself into view. Its fur was singed, one leg twisted, but its eyes glowed with warpstone fire.
The wizard’s face twisted into a look of vindicated triumph.
Wizard (smugly):
“I told you that blasted rat was more than it seemed.”
The barbarian nodded vigorously, superstition flaring.
Barbarian:
“Aye! A cursed rat! A daemon rat! I knew it!”
Bek rounded on the wizard.
Bek (outraged):
“Oh, don’t start with that nonsense! It’s a rat! A RAT! It wasn’t summoning anything!”
He turned to the elf for support.
Bek:
“Tell him! Tell him he’s talking rubbish!”
The elf paused, tilted his head, and shrugged.
Elf (mildly):
“…perhaps the wizard is correct.”
The dwarf nearly exploded.
Bek:
“WHAT?!”
The elf turned away quickly, concealing a smile behind a perfectly calm expression.
The barbarian caught the brief curve of the elf’s lips—just for a heartbeat—before the elf’s face returned to its usual serene indifference.
The barbarian stared at him, brow furrowed.
The elf noticed the look and gave the faintest, most imperceptible wink.
Before the barbarian could react, the rat convulsed.
Warpstone energy surged around it. Bones cracked. Flesh twisted. The tiny creature grew—rapidly—its body warping into a monstrous bull‑headed form.
A Daemon Minotaur.
The group stepped back, weapons raised.
Wizard (dryly):
“Well. There’s your proof.”
Bek growled something in dwarven that was definitely not complimentary.
The battle was fierce, but the group fought with the desperation of heroes who knew the fate of the Empire hung in the balance. When the final blow landed, the Daemon Minotaur erupted in a column of fire that shot straight up, carving a tunnel to the surface.
Dust and soot rained down on the group.
The dwarf was covered, the barbarian was covered the wizard was covered, the elf…
stood untouched.
Not a speck of soot, not a smudge. His clothes looked freshly laundered. His hair immaculate.
The barbarian stared.
The wizard stared.
Bek stared.
Bek (throwing up his hands):
“Oh, come on! HOW?!”
The elf simply adjusted his cloak.
Elf (calmly):
“We should go.”
The others followed—still coughing, still filthy, still baffled—while the elf walked ahead, pristine as moonlight.
This is the Idol Objective room for WHQ (war-hammer quest) from 1995. I have included the minor remix of 2 other models that I will be using with the Idol Room piece. There is a demon statue and a brazier. These other 2 models were found for free and I will post the links to them if you want to support the original creator.
The first time I printed this I printed it flat and I didn't like the layer lines on the top. I have adjusted this to print at 45 degrees. This was printed in .4mm nozzle on Bambu Matte Ash Grey. I might have done this in the .2mm but I wanted it printed right away.
apologies that I do not have this painted before posting. I will paint it soon and will post the final picture of it. I thought I had a picture of it outside of the print plate but I guess I didn't. I will update that in next day or so (hopefully)
For the Demon I removed the base and downsized the model (50% I think). You will see that the demon has a broken leg…. well he was dropped and remained undamaged. then I was at the top of the steps to let the dogs out he wad dropped again and made it all the way to the bottom before snapping. I have not decided if I'm going to make it look like it was repaired or just hide it.
here is the link to the Daemon if you want to support the creator - https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/winged-demon-tabletop-miniature
→ I used .2mm Bambu Matte Ash Grey with default settings.
→ Please feel free to use any model for this. If you see something you like more let me know in the comments. Maybe I will use it for my game as well.
for the brazier, I cut the legs down a bit. I printed a couple of these as I have never painted fire before and this was mostly so I could screw up before I get would I would like. here is a link to support the creator if you want. - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2802556
→ I used .4mm Bambu Matte Ash Grey with default settings.
→ Please feel free to use any model for this. I went searching for something free and I liked the looks of this one the most. I was making my own but was having alot of issues to make the fire. when I saw this one, the base was so close to what I made it was just not worth my pain and agony to make fire. If you have something you like more, please share it with me and I may use it with my game.
Both the Demon and the Brazier I was going to make a post and attach it to the board only while in use. It just would not be feasible to attempt to store and transport in one piece
This is my commercial license https://www.printablescenery.com/2025/03/20/fox-fireblaze/
The base is compatible with OpenLOCK it is sized to 125%
To use the coupler it will need to be printed at 125% (see my uploads) and you will need to use plyers to remove the front supports.
