Description
Microscale. Megadetail.
Just a couple of days ago, I uploaded a motorboat design for a competition. Who would’ve thought the contest would end so quickly—and yet, the idea of creating a boat roughly the size of the original Benchy just wouldn’t let go.
Boost MeIf you like the model, please leave a 👍 like and 💬 comment — I’d really appreciate it! A subscription means a lot too. As a beginner in 3D printing, your feedback helps me know I’m on the right track.✅ Fully detailed
✅ No glue required for assembly
✅ Functional moving parts
✅ Printable without an AMS system
I don’t even know how I pulled it off… but I did.
🧠 This tiny model will surprise you! And yes, even the most budget-friendly printer can handle it.
🔄 Rotatable steering wheel
🔧 Movable motor
⚙️ Spinnable propeller
🧷 Glue-free assembly
🚫 AMS not required
🧱 Assembled model feels like a single solid piece
🎨 Fully customizable paint scheme
😎 And it just looks awesome at this scale!
💡 Note: Regardless of whether you have AMS or not, I strongly recommend using the non-AMS version. Why?
Because it gives you full control over each part during the printing process. If one part fails, you can reprint just that one.
With AMS, one failed part often means reprinting all parts of that color.
Also, not all parts need brim or ironing — the non-AMS version is optimized for that, which AMS profiles can't handle.
🧪 All my tests were done on a SMOOTH PLATE!
❓ If you're printing on a TEXTURED PLATE, add more BRIM just to be safe.
⚠️ This is a challenging print due to the tiny size of the parts.
🛠️ Your printer must be well-calibrated, and your build plate spotlessly clean.
🧼 I recommend washing it with dish soap like Fairy before starting.
📏 All dimensions are a perfect fit — but many parts are so small, they’re hard to handle!
🧵 Parts are not just small — they’re SUPER small! I’m pretty sure 99.5% of you have never printed something this tiny with a 0.4 mm nozzle.
✋ Some parts are tricky to grip. If you love micro builds — this one’s for you!
🛟 Attach the lifebuoys to the sides, not the top.
📡 Antennas may need a little cleanup for a good fit.
🔁 You might need to work the motor manually a few times to free up its movement.
📘 Follow the assembly sequence carefully (see instructions below).
❤️ If you enjoy miniature builds like this, please let me know in the comments — I’d love to create more!
If you’re looking for a larger version and you have the Kit 010, check out my other model:
👉 Similar design, but with a real working motor!
Happy printing!
