Description
This isn't just any 3D printable cap; it's a small but mighty invention born from the very practical desire not to accidentally zap myself into oblivion while using my oscilloscope. I primarily designed it for my FNIRSI 2C53P, a portable oscilloscope where it's all too easy to accidentally touch something you shouldn't. Good news: I've also found it fits perfectly on other scopes I've tested, like the Rigol DS1052E, so chances are it'll work for yours too!
Why it exists: When you're dealing with serious voltages (think 230VAC) and only using one probe, the unused BNC connector on your scope becomes a surprisingly dangerous exposed point. That's because the "ground" terminals of both BNC inputs are often internally connected. This cap provides a simple, yet crucial, barrier against accidental contact, especially on a portable device where your hands might be moving around more.
