Description
This model is based on the Recumbent Lion sculpture from the Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally intended to commemorate Austrian field marshal Karl Philip Schwarzenberg (1771–1820), the lion was meant to serve as a symbol of strength and guardianship. Although the full memorial was never completed, the sculpture stands on its own as a striking neoclassical work.
This remix was adapted from a CC0 3D scan provided through the Scan the World project. I repaired the mesh, scaled it to maximize fit for an A1 printer, optimized the infill for both strength and material efficiency, and manually painted support regions to ensure cleaner breakaway and easier cleanup.
Printed in Elegoo Marble PLA using the Generic High-Speed PLA profile. After printing, I used a file and fine-grit sandpaper to smooth out areas where supports were removed.
