Dead Sakura - Twist Hairpin

Hey there! :)

It's just past Sakura season, so I decided to design a celebratory hairpin for this delicate and iconic blossom. Sakura is the Japanese name for the white-pink blossoms of cherry that cover the trees explosively and stunningly during spring. However, they have a short life, and lots of them wither away in just a few weeks. So, Sakura has a dual meaning in Japanese culture: Life and beauty, Death and mortality. 

 

And as you already know, I live for this kind of beautiful but dark stuff. :D

Anyways! This design is perfect for a twisted bun updo, or just as a decoration for a messy bun made with a hair tie. It could be a perfect gift for your badass friends with long hair! 

 

The print is super simple as well: 

- You can leave the supports option on, but I printed without supports just fine.

- Print with a low layer height, about 0.16 or 0.12.
- Lower the infill percentage to about 5% for a lightweight headwear.
