Description
This model is based on the sculpture King Khafre Enthroned with the Horus Falcon, a seated statue of the 4th Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khafre (ca. 2570 BCE). The original statue shows the pharaoh seated rigidly on a throne, with the falcon god Horus positioned protectively behind his head, signifying divine kingship and unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. This powerful composition exemplifies the formal, idealized style of Old Kingdom royal sculpture. The 3D scan was provided by Statens Museum for Kunst through the Scan the World initiative.
I imported the .stl file into Bambu Studio and repaired the mesh geometry. I re-oriented the model for upright slicing, leveled the underside to improve bed adhesion, and maximized the scale for A1, P1, and X1 printers to maintain the monumentality of the seated form while preserving facial and surface detail.
Printed in Elegoo Marble PLA using the Generic High-Speed PLA profile. After printing, I used a file and fine-grit sandpaper to smooth support contact areas—especially under the chin.
