Description
For those of you asking for instructions about how to use the stealth bit, please see this wonderful instructional video by HOTO!
I wanted to make a case to collect the various joke bits for Father's Day, so I drew one up. Prints in place and has a separate lock that slides on once finished. Prints in two materials but you can delete the text from it if you'd like to fill it with paint or just assign everything a single color to force mono printing.
This one required no post-processing for me other than simply pulling the supports off the locking tabs. Mine quite literally fell off after I removed the print from the build plate; no tools should be required.
Here are the bits you'll need to fill it out:
I printed all my bits in Polymaker Pro Metallic Chrome, then used PolySonic Black and Polylite Pro Metallic Dark Red for the lettering. Gives it a dark and serious look 🤣
To install the lock, just push it over the blocks. There is a retainer nub inside the slide that should provide a little resistance to prevent it from falling off.
UPDATE 20250707: I've added a more aggressive locking pin to plate 2, and added plate 3 which includes a single-material debossed text box instead of two-material embossed box. This elevated text could be colored with a paint pen if desired, or just left as-is.
UPDATE 20250812 - added plate 4 which is completely devoid of text on the front and inside. No color swaps, no debossing. Just a simple, plain box.
UPDATE 20251006
By request, I've added a triangle bit to the top. I have not printed this so I cannot test it, but I've used the same print profile and added the Studio project file to the CAD files section for anyone who wants to try it.
