Description
A friend had a shallow shelf for his H2D printer and asked me to design this low profile right angle vent that would allow him to attach it to a 100mm flexible tube. and still have it close to the wall. I used 4 M3x8mm BT3 Socket Head Cap Self Tapping Screws to attach to the printer. These are shorter versions of the BT3 screws that Bambu uses to attach the Laser Module adapter on the active chamber exhaust. Note, these screws may be very hard to screw in, but don't give up.
It can be attached several ways:
- Ten 10x3 mm round magnets. Best if all oriented the same way. See Maker's Suppy Bill of Materials below.
- Double sided sticky tape.
- Four M3x8mm self tapping screws.
I used M3x8mm self tapping screws to secure it. An exhaust hose that is not strain relieved can put a lot of torque on the exhaust vent. Magnets may slip, and double sided sticky tape may slip over time. I recommend using screws. Below you can order the screws or magnets from the Bambu Store Maker's Supply. Note, you don't need to order the magnets if you are using the screws.
An optional 1mm thick TPU gasket is also included. The vent provides plenty of room for the exhaust flaps to open. It requires about 350g of filament to print the vent and supports.
Note that the depth of the vent is compatible with the chute of my H2D Purge Basket, allowing the back of the printer to be only 2.125 inches (54mm) from a wall.
