Description

A stylized hammerhead shark skull—part marine apex predator, part haunted relic. Designed with exaggerated hammer-shaped features, rows of jagged teeth, and cavernous eye sockets that give it an ancient, mythic vibe. Printed clean, supports removed easily, and stands out with dramatic lighting or paint.

In case you’re new here, Boys Day is a tradition I started with my son. I design strange prehistoric-style skulls, 3D print them, and then hide them deep in the woods for us to discover together. We call them fossil hunts—and they’ve become our favorite way to unplug and reconnect.

Here’s why it matters:
This is the kickoff model for a personal challenge: I’m designing 30 original 3D models in 30 days. Each one will be rooted in the Boys Day spirit—prints that spark wonder, conversation, or creative play. I'm pushing myself to stretch creatively and show what’s possible when design becomes a daily habit.

Here’s how it went:
The hammerhead’s silhouette came easily, but the open-jaw construction took a few tweaks to get right. I exaggerated the mouth for easier printing and deeper shadows in photos. The inner ridges and “muscle” structures were inspired by fossil reconstructions, but stylized for a bolder, toy-like feel.
