Spin up some fun and a refreshing breeze with this delightful Flower Spinner!

Inspired by the classic string-powered whirligig toy, this 3D printed version takes on a beautiful flower shape. I wanted to bring back that simple joy of watching something spin faster and faster with just a bit of string and coordination. Not only is it mesmerizing to watch, but the flower petal design also generates a surprisingly pleasant little breeze as it whirls! It's a joy to print, easy to assemble, and even more fun to play with. Perfect for kids and adults who appreciate a bit of simple, engaging amusement.

Assembly:

1. Cut a piece of strong, smooth string (nylon cord, thin paracord, or even sturdy cotton string works). Approximately 70-120cm is a good starting length. Smoother string tends to work better and last longer.
2. Take one end of the string and pass it through one of the central holes in the flower spinner from one side. Pass the same end back through the other hole, coming out on the original side. You should now have a loop of string on one face of the flower, and the two loose ends of the string on the other face.
3. Tie the ends with a secure knot.

How to play:

1. Hold the string by placing a finger or two from each hand inside the string loops on either side of the flower spinner, so the spinner is suspended in the middle of the string.
2. Swing the flower spinner in circles (like a lasso, but gently) several times to twist the string up. You'll see the string coiling (see images).
3. Gently pull your hands apart. The flower will start to spin rapidly as the string unwinds.
4. Just as the string fully unwinds, relax your pull slightly. The momentum of the spinner will cause the string to wind up again in the opposite direction.
5. Once it's coiled up again, pull your hands apart once more. Repeat this rhythmic pulling to keep the flower spinning faster and faster.

Print:

Make sure to select the Arachne wall generator in Bambu Studio (Quality > Wall generator).
