A set of three 3D-printed parts for a micro irrigation system using 6/4 mm tubing (6 mm outer diameter, 4 mm inner diameter):
1. Adjustable Valve:
A short tube with a hose connector on one end and internal threads. A longitudinal slot on the side of the tube lets water out. A screw is inserted at the end of the tube to adjust the water flow. When fully tightened, the valve is sealed. As the screw is unscrewed, more of the slot opens and increases the flow. Designed to solve the problem with many kits where either the nozzles are non-adjustable or adjust poorly and inconsistently.
When fully tightened, the valve should stop the flow completely, but whether it does so entirely depends on the print quality and the water pressure. Most likely, the flow will not stop completely.
2. Extension:
A simple connector with hose fittings on both ends, used to connect two tubes.
3. End Stop (Cap):
A small round plug with a hose connector, used to seal the end of a tube.
Printing Tips:
The threads are sensitive to print quality and work best when printed in PLA.
The extension should be printed with a brim for better bed adhesion (the printprofile is already prepared for this).
The valve body may also require a brim depending on your printer's first layer adhesion. The other parts generally print fine without brim.
