Kinetic Wave Generator

This dual-axis wave generator is a captivating 3D-printed kinetic sculpture that transforms your desk into a dynamic display of fluid wave motion. You can make your own waveform by turning the two cranks and you can experiment with different types of oscillations by making your own cam shaft (see assembly instructions).

This wave generator is perfect as a desk ornament, educational tool, or thoughtful gift. It brings mechanical ingenuity and elegance for visual delight and satisfaction. You could play with this for hours and it surely is a worthwhile print!

Assembly instructions

Firm tapping is required. Try wiggling the cam shaft into the pin.
Make sure the flat side of the cams face downwards as you slot them into the cam shaft. Thread a cam spacer after each cam.
You should end with a cam and NOT a cam spacer. Thread the other frame through the shaft pins and press firmly on the centre of the frame.
You can go with the standard or try out different designs to experiment with different waveforms like this one! You can create whatever you like!
This design would cause one axis to oscillate to and fro!
Press the crank onto each shaft. Wiggle and push firmly.
Finally, thread the trunk of the T-shaped part through the two centre shafts and repeat 20 times for each pair of cams. Assembly is complete!

I really hope you like my wave generator! Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you have any questions, complaints or suggestions!

Enjoy printing!
