Magnetic strip for medium PetSafe door

Magnetic strip for the bottom of Medium PetSafe Pet door. This strip replaces the soft brittle magnetic strip on the bottom of the door that catches the Magnet of the flap to seal the door.

I used 5- 6mmx3mm magnets and made sure they were in the correct polarity to the flap prior to installing them in the strip. The strip is designed to wiggle and lift a little so the flap can attract the strip and seal the door. 

 

*I did find that the PETG bowed a little after coming off the plate since it is a slim part, I just bent it back flat and have had zero issues.

 

I searched everywhere for a replacement but could not find one. I am not spending $70 for a new dog door if I can design and fix the problems for under $5. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for checking it out.
