Description

There are many printable Trench Crusade tiles out there, but none really have the modularity that I was looking for, so I designed my own. They are either a solid 6 inch block, or edge pieces meant to be added to cut styrofoam.

This system is based around 6 inch tiles that are subdivided into 2 inch sections. Those sections have a 1 inch core (usually a pillar), with modular space around it for walls, connectors, etc.

A section can be open, with just a ground tile one it, can be part of another section (like for stairs), or can be a pillar (to support walls or for elevation changes). You can stack as many pillars as you want to create layered battlefields. Connectors can be used to keep different pillars linked together.

The components I've added can be magnetized (10x3mm magnets; applicators in a separate print profile), or can be aligned using the physical pins on each component.

The profiles I've uploaded are fairly basic:

  • Plain - This are box components that take up the space allocated for each component. Nothing fancy, but easy to print.
  • Frame - These components are the correct size, but cut down to structural elements. You can add your own decorations to these objects to make your own terrain variations and print them.
  • Decorative - This is a sample of what decorated terrain can look like (I'm not a good artist) using some free online models (mud from Together3D, sandbags from BlueY).

I've included some pictures of how the scenery can come together, along with proxy models and objects.
