Description
The Watertight Battery Flatpack is my third iteration of watertight battery storage designed around keeping the batteries you need in your range bag, camping kit or hunting gear in a watertight shadowboxed organizer. The first two designs were pucks, sealed using commonly available o-rings. This one capitalizes on form factor, measuring 5" across, 6.7" long and just over an inch in thickness. It utilizes a TPU gasket to keep the water out, unlike the previous o-ring models, and fits far better into cargo pockets, backpack compartments or interior compartments in a range bag.
This model carries the following batteries:
I've included a picture of how to assemble. This design prints with no supports needed, no AMS needed. I would print in PETG since you can expect something like this to sit in a car or a pack for awhile on hot days and PLA won't handle that while PETG will.
Comments, critique and requests welcome!
For the guys who a TPU gasket isn't an option currently, the o-ring design is here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1489139-battery-puck-2-0#profileId-1556232
6/21/25 UPDATE: Two things.
Thanks for all the support, the comments and the downloads. Let me know what else you could see being useful with this design.
6/26/25 UPDATE: Uploaded a blank tray STEP file by request. The slots in the top are still cut into it, and you'll need a way to access them from underneath, so factor that into your extrusions, or you won't be able to attach it to the cap.
2/27/26 UPDATE: A new, modular, Flatpack design is out here. Build out your pack specific to your battery needs.
