Description

Hey folks, I have another Docobot for you today, Cherry Bomb!

50% proximity mine, 50% Olympic sprinter, 100% terrifying.

The second of six in the Produce Wars series, Cherry Bomb is quick (1h24m print time) and easy to assemble. I'll be uploading a new Docobot in this series every Tuesday until all six are released, and you can catch a sneak peek at next weeks upload down this page a little further. The Produce Wars series doesn't mean that you won't see any other Docobots over the next month so keep an eye out for more.

I know what you're thinking, how much damage can a tiny little cherry packed with explosives do? Well, to you or I a cherry is tiny, but to a banana or green pepper a cherry is bowling ball sized.

Picture this…

You're walking down the street, minding your own business and a bowling ball sized Cherry suddenly springs off the ground, four feet in the air because you came within fifty feet of it. While in mid air, a pair of feet and legs transform from the top half of the cherry to not only reveal a bundle of dynamite hidden inside, but also ignites the fuse that you thought was a stem. As the cherry lands back on the ground, it puts those new legs to good use and starts sprinting towards you at full speed.

Fortunately for you and I, bowling ball sized mobile cherry proximity mines don't exist, but in the Docobots world, Cherry Bombs are a real concern

ASSEMBLY

There isn't much in the way of assembly with this one. Two feet, two legs and a body. The dynamite is made up of three parts. I initially had it all as one piece, but that would have taken two and a half hours to print and would have produced a bunch of unnecessary waste.

To assemble the bomb, slide the brown piece onto the red piece with the peg and then put the second red piece on top.

The legs only fit properly one way and I've added an ‘R’ and ‘L’ to the side of each leg to help you with orientation when assembling. When connecting the left leg to the body, the ‘L’ should be facing left, away from the right leg. Same with the right side, the ‘R’ should be facing out.

Once you have the legs connected to the body, you can attach the bomb to the body as seen in the photo.

Now attach the feet to the legs. You will see a small hole in the body, right behind the dynamite. That is for the stem/fuse. When in robot form, the fuse fits into the hole and when in cherry form, the flame rests on top of the hole to help keep it secure.

TRANSFORMING

Transforming is pretty straightforward. The feet fold out and the legs need to be rotated so that the curved side of the leg is facing behind the cherry when in robot form. When the legs are properly rotated and the bot is transformed, you will see stripes facing forward on each leg and the ‘R’ and ‘L’ on each leg should be facing each other on the inner thighs.

Other than that, you just have to flip the stem so the flame is pointing up and insert it into the body to create the fuse.

If you've made it this far, then I appreciate you taking the time to check out my work, and if you like this, you might want to check out the first model in the Produce Wars series, Assassanana and be sure to come back next Tuesday for the next bot. Here is a sneak peek at next week's model, Sgt Pepper!
