🌱 Durian Germinator
This seed sprouter is specially designed for large seeds like durian, mango, or avocado pits. It consists of three 3D-printed parts, each with a specific function:
🧩 Components
- Base – Holds the water. Inspired by the outer shell of a durian.
- Tray – Perforated platform to keep seeds elevated above the water. Echoes the interior structure of a durian.
- TransCover – Transparent lid that maintains humidity inside the sprouter.
🖨️ Printing Instructions
- Base → Print in PLA
- Tray → Print in PLA
- TransCover → Print in PETG, ideally transparent
🧠 The included PETG printing profile for the TransCover is optimized to maximize clarity.
✅ Recommended Printing Order
- Start with the Base
- Then print the Tray
- Finish with the TransCover
🧰 Post-Processing: Removing Tray Supports
The Tray includes dense support material due to its intricate perforated design. Here's how to safely remove them:
- Equip yourself with a thin, sharp blade (e.g., craft or paring knife).
- Start by gently lifting the interface layer between the support and the printed part.
- Then slide the blade sideways, using the model itself as leverage, to peel off the supports cleanly.
- Be patient and precise to avoid damaging the fine perforations.

🧪 How It Works
- Pour water into the Base (do not overfill).
- Place seeds on the Tray, making sure they stay above the waterline.
- Close with the TransCover to retain humidity and create a mini greenhouse.
You're now ready to start sprouting your favorite tropical seeds!
