Description
Now available in a dual color version, making it pop more and allowing more personalisation.
I improved the whole design, adjusting every detail. Now the stronger and stiffer design is more refined and available in every length, from 150 to 450mm. Small 130mm is no longer available. Better aesthetic, refined corners, and increased handle angle for better finger placement. At the corners is now possible to stick double-sided tape to fix it on the glass.
I strengthened the design to make it stiffer at the top and bottom of the handle by adding some ribs. I suggest printing it at least with 4 walls. There are two 0.4mm-deep areas on the top and bottom for placing double-sided tape to better attach the handle to the glass door.
At the moment, I am testing this mod only in the 400mm long version: if it is something welcome, I will also upload the 200, 300 and 450 versions. There is a stronger and 10mm deeper version to better accommodate your fingers, too.
I never understood how the original H2D handle was intended to be used (opening from the right side and moving the hand in front of you??), so when I decided to turn it the other way, I also decided to change it. This is the result, inspired by the Prusa Core One handle.
I printed it in PLA, matching the colour of the original handle as closely as possible. If you usually print high-temp materials, it is better to print the handle in a high-temp resistant material, too.
I oriented it on the plate diagonally to utilise the maximum length available on the H2D. To avoid problems, the infill direction should be set at 0°.
I also suggest printing it with a small layer height to gain the best finish and mitigate the stair effect on the top layer.
The handle works on the full H2 Series: H2D, H2S and H2C.
