Description
UPDATE 6/25/2025: I've added a guide to walk you through transformation into pepper mode. You can find the guide further down the page.
I have a new Docobot for you today, Sgt Pepper!
Sgt Pepper is the third Docobot in Produce Wars series and the largest one to date. Just like Assassanana (swords) and Cherry Bomb (fuse), I found a creative use for the stem and turned it into Sgt Pepper's pistol. The body and feet could have been positioned to print quicker with less support, but the orientation of the body feet and upper arms is done deliberately so that when he is in pepper mode, it looks nice and uniform.
NOTES
- There are optional magnets in the upper arms and feet.
- If you're having issues with loose joints, try printing the ball joint pieces with fuzzy skin turned on.
- DO NOT glue his hat on. You take it off when transforming.
- This is a work in progress, a transforming guide is on the way.
ASSEMBLY
Assembly is super quick and easy. Let's start by taking the two feet, two legs and the body and connect them together as seen below.
Put the body/legs to the side for a moment and grab a hand, forearm and elbow. Connect them together and then repeat for the other arm.
Now connect each elbow to each upper arm. Make sure that you're connecting the proper hand/forearm/elbow with the proper upper arm.
Now we're going to connect the upper arm to the shoulder and the body.
Now connect the neck to the head and body as seen below.
Lastly, put his glasses on. You will probably need a drop of glue for the glasses. After that, clip his gun into his hand and put his hat on. DO NOT glue his hat on. When you transform him into a pepper, you will need to take his hat off.
TRANSFORMATION GUIDE
In order to transform Sgt Pepper, the first thing you will need to do is remove his hat and gun.
Next we will fold his head back. To do that, you will have to turn his head sideways to get past the neck. Once his head is in his chest, turn it so you see the back of his head.
Now position each arm the way you see in the picture below. The elbow is pointed straight down, the forearm is pointing backwards with the flat side of the arm facing up and the hand curled up as well.
Now take that arm and turn the whole thing at the shoulder so that the arm swings into the space in the chest next to the head.
I deliberately left the gun out of the last picture just so you could get a good look at the arm inside the body, but when you curl that first arm in, you should also put the gun in as well. The barrel of the gun has to be positioned as far away from the head as possible.
Repeat with the other arm and we should be looking at a pepper with legs at this point.
The next step is to twist those legs around. We want the geometric side to be facing inside the pepper when closed. In the following picture you can see the right leg has been twisted into place and the foot is being folded up into the pepper.
Once you have one leg folded in, drop his hat into the bottom cavity as seen below, and then close up the last leg.
