Description
Didn't see any filament shelf or rack brackets I loved, so I designed another that I don't love.
Built in Onshape.
Seems to have plenty of strength for intended application. Utilizes “1 inch”, but actually 25mm dowels as found at my local hardware store. All holes are 26mm. The height dimension intended to accommodate clearance for spools between shelves when brackets are butted top to bottom as pictured. Multiple holes allow versatile configurations, including forward pointing dowel insertion, in case one wishes to support dowels from a perpendicular wall surface. Washers included to evenly distribute screw head pressure may not be necessary in all applications but may as well. Two shelf trays at this point, a 200mm wide and a half size tray.
Reasons I oriented the bracket as posted: I believe strength would be maximized with a side down orientation, but had some quality issues with overhang, support interface, and top surfaces. Vertical orientation reduced footprint (I'm sure multiples could fit the bed), and reduced needs for support. I selected the upper-forward slope surface as bottom layer believing that surface would receive the most strain and should benefit from the strength of a few full-length initial layers.
